Allgood Creek in Chattooga County, Ga. is one of the waterways benefitting from protection via conservation easements

We at Alabama Land Trust, Inc., Georgia Land Trust, Inc., and The Chattowah Open Land Trust, Inc. are proud of what we do and what our supporters have helped us to do. We look to the future with a clear vision of our perpetual commitment to land conservation – knowing that we continue to lead the southeast in private land protection by a regional land trust. We’re proud, too, that our work, mission, staff, board of directors, and supporters remain so focused on protecting land in Alabama and Georgia.

As non-profit, 501(c)(3) organizations, we rely on support from you and others to keep the work going.  Our organizations maintain an endowment to ensure that we have the capacity to permanently monitor and enforce conservation easements.  We monitor each conservation easement at least annually and will for perpetuity. Endowment funds – mainly built from contributions related to donated conservation easements — are not used for operations. Rather, operational funds for Alabama Land Trust, Inc., Georgia Land Trust, Inc. and affiliates’ on-going operations come from donations from conservation easement landowners, supporters, grants and contracts with partners on specific projects including industry and the U.S. military.

Perpetual monitoring is costly, as is keeping a professional staff with biologists, foresters, and conservation planners who work with landowners to get conservation easements done in a timely and efficient manner. Your donations and support makes the successful, perpetual protection of special land in Alabama and Georgia possible.

Please remember Alabama Land Trust, Inc. and Georgia Land Trust, Inc. in your monthly, quarterly and year-end donation plans. To donate on-line, click on donate on the home page or look for the Please donate tab in this Support section.

Also, we ask that you please perpetuate our perpetual protection of land by remembering us in your will and estate planning.
