Reserved Rights Request

Conservation easements allow you to manage and enjoy your property as you want. However, there are usually a few instances where the terms of your easement require that you either notify GALT of your plans to undertake certain activities or require that you ask GALT to approve your plans in advance. Common activities that require notice/approval include:

  • Harvesting timber

  • Constructing a building, pond, or road

  • Selling the property to another landowner

Every conservation easement is unique, so you need to know the terms of your agreement to be aware of when notice/approval is required. If you are not sure of your requirements, GALT can help. Contact stewardship@galandtrust.org if you need assistance or use the link below to initiate notice/approval via a Reserved Rights Request.
