Jamie joined GALT in August as the In Lieu Fee Programs Wetland Restoration Specialist. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography from Emory and Henry College and started his career in coastal Georgia helping to manage a barrier island preserve. This work was a stepping stone to an exciting and varied career that includes working with Right whales in the southeastern US, Stellar sea lions in Alaska, monk seals in Hawaii, and fisheries and oceanography work across Alaska for nearly 20 years. Jamie’s love of coastal wetlands and marsh ecology eventually led him back to Georgia where he worked as a wetland biologist for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources before becoming part of the ILF Team at GALT.
